As a Webelos, you will need to purchase your scout a Khaki uniform to prepare for Scouts BSA. Your Scout will be required to camp “patrol style” with a Scouts BSA Troop. We recommend that your camp with several different troops and take good notes as to what he or she likes and dislikes about each one. He or she will need to speak with a Scoutmaster. Again, we recommend he talk to different Troop Scoutmasters in your local area. Encourage him or her to ask questions. Remember it should be your Scout’s decision as to which Troop he or she wants to join.
At this point we expect the Scout to be totally responsible for his or her own work and for updating the Den Leader on work completed at home.
When a scout reaches 11 years of age or completes the fifth grade, he or she may graduate from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA at an impressive Crossover Ceremony. Earning the Arrow of Light requires the Webelos Scout to complete extra activities among other things. The Award is very special since it can also be worn on the Scouts BSA uniform. We aim to graduate every Cub Scout to a Scouts BSA.
